This is a very simple, easy chocolate cake for any occasion. We like to serve this with some buttercream and fresh sliced strawberries in between the layers.
For 6 sheets (baked in 22cm round tins each) or 32 6×3,5cm round forms
- 700g sugar
- 500g butter
- 400g flour
- 8tbspoons of cocoa powder
- 4tspoons of vanilla sugar
- 4tspoons of baking soda
- 8 eggs
- 4dl milk
I start cutting cold butter in small squares and let it soften in room temperature. In the same bowl I put the sugar. Meanwhile, the flour is sieved together with cocoa powder and baking soda. When butter is soft I mix it with sugar and vanilla until white. To this I add eggs, an egg a time until white and fluffy. Then the milk is added continuing mixing. At least the flour mix is added and stirred carefully into the batter. I bake each layer for 17 minutes in preheated oven at 180 degrees C using the fan setting.
